Have you chosen "/Trash" at trash folder selection UI for "delete model=move to trash"? Displayed "selected folder name" in UI is currently lowest level folder name only. The "Trash" is presented to Gmail IMAP client as "/Trash" folder. Special trash folder name in Gmail Web Interface = "Trash".
